CAMCEADHUB relaunches with a redesigned interface and a more resilient platform

CAMCEADHUB, CamCEAD's cloud analysis platform for CASU, has just had a major relaunch — a redesigned interface, and a more robust, more resilient platform underneath it. A couple of smaller but welcome additions come alongside: a new sign-in option, and built-in file sharing.

A redesigned interface, and a more resilient platform
The main work behind this relaunch has gone into the platform itself: a refreshed frontend design that's clearer and easier to navigate, and substantial work on the backend to make CAMCEADHUB more robust and more resilient — fewer disruptions, and a platform built to stay reliable as usage grows.
Raven sign-in, alongside your existing login
CamCEAD members now have an additional way to sign in: with their University of Cambridge Raven account. This is offered alongside the existing username-and-password login, not as a replacement — your current CAMCEADHUB account and password still work exactly as before. If you'd rather use Raven, just click CRSid (CamCEAD members only) on the sign-in page and authenticate as normal — no extra two-factor step, since Raven's own sign-in already covers that. Linking your CRSid takes seconds from your Profile page.

Built-in S3 storage, and sharing without the email attachments
Every account comes with its own private, S3-compatible storage bucket — persistent space that stays with you no matter which server you're running, reachable from the dashboard, from your own computer with a standard S3 client, or straight from inside a running Jupyter session with nothing to configure.
Sharing is now built in too: generate a temporary public link for a colleague or a journal reviewer who doesn't have a CAMCEADHUB account, or grant a specific user or one of your project groups direct access to a file or folder — no more attachments, no more USB sticks.

The same real compute underneath
All of this sits on the CAMCEADHUB you already know: JupyterLab, RStudio and VS Code environments with the scientific Python and astronomy stack pre-installed, servers sized from Default up to GPU-accelerated XLarge, all running on IRIS, the UK's national e-Infrastructure for STFC.
