CAMCEAD launches new website
26 June 2026
We are pleased to announce the launch of the new CAMCEAD website at camcead.ast.cam.ac.uk. The site provides a unified access point for all CAMCEAD activities, including our research and survey projects, software tools, publications, people, vacancies and news.
The new site reflects the group's evolution and expansion under the CAMCEAD name — the Cambridge Centre of Excellence in Astronomical Data — bringing together the long-standing expertise of the Cambridge Astronomical Survey Unit (CASU) with new interdisciplinary programmes in areas including AI, machine learning, biomedical imaging, and cloud computing.
What you will find on the new site
- Research & Projects — our active survey and instrumentation projects including WEAVE, 4MOST, MOONS, PLATO, Gaia and more
- Software & Tools — open source software, documentation and legacy tools
- Services — scientific pipelines, user support, and computing services including CamCEADHub and Darkroom
- People — staff profiles and contact information
- Publications — automatically updated from OpenAlex
- News & Vacancies — the latest from the group
Legacy CASU website retirement
The legacy CASU website at casu.ast.cam.ac.uk will be retired and taken down by the end of July 2026. Please update any bookmarks or links you may have to the old site. Key resources previously hosted there — including pipeline documentation, data release pages and software downloads — are being migrated to the new site and to our GitLab repositories.
If you cannot find something you need from the old CASU site, please contact us at casuhelp@ast.cam.ac.uk and we will help you locate the relevant resource.
